Looking at the clubbing scene and festival culture in Croatia, it is an incredibly healthy scene given that fact that it is relatively new. Ibiza has dominated since the 80’s and many feel like Ibiza will always be home to the bohemian clubbers who lust for something different than their 9 to 5 job but Croatia is hot on its heels and has been for the last decade. The Croatian festivals have a huge reputation worldwide as the places to go for music lovers and festival like Dimensions, Suncebeat and Soundwave are to thank for that reputation. Sadly, Soundwave Festival this year announced that they will be celebrating their final edition in 2018 after 10 years of unforgettable parties.
They have released their first wave of acts for the final dance at The Garden in Tisno. Romare, Jordan Rakei, Submotion Orchestra and Horse Meat Disco all feature on the lineup which will be sure to send the festival off in style. In a statement on their Facebook page Soundwave said: “It’s with some sadness but plenty of pride that we can announce that the tenth Soundwave Croatia next summer will be the final one ever”.
“Finishing the journey on our tenth year will bring everything together into one last adventure, and we intend to make it a fitting climax. We hope you can join us. We’re very excited to share the initial set of artists as we ride The Final Wave!”.
With so many memories attached to Soundwave Festival, you will see us front and centre saying goodbye to one of our favourite Croatian festivals. Tickets are on sale now and you can find them here. You will need to act fast to ensure you don’t miss the final dance with Soundwave Festival. Check out the full lineup below along with their full statement.
